Strong start to Keeneland September for Malibu Moon

Tuesday’s session of the Keeneland September Yearling sale produced very solid numbers for Malibu Moon, topped by a $525,000 filly purchased by Shawn Dugan, agent.

Consigned by Paramount Sales, agent, hip No. 237 is out of the Speightstown mare Ask Me When and is a full sister to stakes winner Aristocratic and a half-sister to stakes winner Up the Ante. The bay filly’s second dam won or placed in nine stakes and is the dam of multiple Grade 2 winner Dominus.

Malibu Moon’s top colt on Tuesday was hip No. 267, consigned by Four Star Sales, agent and purchased for $275,000 by Joseph Burke. The bay juvenile is out of the Deputy Minister mare Blossomed and is a half-brother to Grade 1 Spinaway S. winner Sippican Harbor and graded stakes-placed Bodacious Babe.
