Wicked Strong filly wins Churchill MdSpWt finale

Wicked Strong got his 21st First-Crop winner on the closing day of the Churchill Downs Fall Meet when Jilted Bride threaded her way between horses in mid-stretch to take the six-furlong maiden special weight race by nearly a length (VIDEO).
Wicked Strong has the second-most winners of any Freshman Sire, led by the two-time graded stakes winner Wicked Runner. After breeding 131 mares this year, he 2020 fee at Spendthrift will be $6,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
Jilted Bride was boxed in behind horses until the final furlong, when Rafael Santana, Jr. guided her through a narrow opening. She shot through and was pulling away at the end to win officially by three-quarters of a length.
The winner is owned by Bradley Thoroughbreds et al and was bred by Bobby Jones Equine, LLC. She sold for $150,000 at the 2019 OBS March 2-year-old sale.
