November 12, 2020
A colt by Bolt d’Oro out of a very deep female family sold for $280,000 Wednesday at the Keeneland November sale, one of four six-figure weanlings during the session from their sire’s first crop.
The Kentucky-bred bay, hip No. 967, was consigned by Clarkland Farm, agent, and purchased by Sand Hill Stables.
The colt is the first foal out of the stakes winner C. S. Incharge, whose siblings include Grade 3 winner Sweeping Paddy and Preakness S. (G1) runner-up Cherry Wine. The first four dams under the colt are either stakes winners or produced stakes winners. His fourth dam Appealing Story is responsible for four stakes winners, including champion Exciting Story.
Bolt d’Oro has been one of the most popular stallions in the past two seasons, breeding a total of 360 mares. His 2021 fee will be $15,000 S&N.
