Warheart becomes 10th stakes winner of 2024 for Omaha Beach
November 1, 2024
Leading Second-Crop sire Omaha Beach tallied his tenth stakes winner of the year Friday at Aqueduct when Warheart went gate-to-wire in the $135,000 Atlantic Beach S.
The 2-year-old broke on top from his outside post position in the field of eight and never looked back in the six-furlong contest. He got token pressure from Colonel Bob through the first half of the race, but pulled away at will from that point to come home a four-length winner in 1:08.71 on the firm turf.
Warheart broke his maiden at second asking at Kentucky Downs in early September and is now 2-1-0 in four starts and has earned $144,625 for DARRS, Inc. The dark bay was bred in Kentucky by September Farm LLC and is out of the stakes-placed Inside Out.
Omaha Beach has three graded winners among his stakes horses, topped by Natalma S. (G1) winner And One More Time, while his $6.6 million in progeny earnings is nearly $1 million above all other Second-Crop sires.
