Vekoma filly hammers for $250,000 during Fasig-Tipton Saratoga opener

2023 Fasig-Tipton Selected Yearling Sale
A filly from the first crop of multiple Grade 1 winner Vekoma brought a top bid of $250,000 during the opening session of the Aug. 7-8 Saratoga Selected Yearlings sale in upstate New York on Monday evening.
Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency for Spendthrift Farm, hip No. 82 went to Talla Racing.
The bay youngster is out of Joint Return, who was a three-time stakes winner and finished second in the Alabama S. (G1). Joint Return has two foals to race to date, including the recent Into Mischief winner Make Decisions. This is also the family of European champion Ghanayim.
Vekoma, who stood this year for $15,000, won both the Metropolitan H. (G1) and Carter H. (G1) during his 4-year-old season. In his first two seasons at stud, he bred 418 mares.
