Undefeated Into Mischief filly rolls in stakes debut
September 13, 2017
Bibbidibobbidi Boo, a 2-year-old daughter of Into Mischief, bound to a 2 1/4-length victory in her stakes debut Wednesday at Indiana Downs, taking the $100,000 City of Anderson S. to score her second win in as many starts.
A 6 3/4-length winner of her debut on Aug. 15, Bibbidibobbidi Boo was sharp out of the gate once again, going head-to-head with Ever Wonder for the first half-mile. After putting away that challenge, the eventual winner was comfortably ahead of late-closing Regal Wildcat when she stopped the timer in 1:11.81 on the fast track (VIDEO).
This filly has always shown a lot of talent,” said trainer Mike Lauer, who is Indiana’s all-time leading stakes winning trainer. “She’s quick and gets out of there fast. Marcelino (Pedroza) told me she broke so sharp today that he wasn’t going back. I was a little scared when I saw the time pop up for the first quarter, but it didn’t affect her at all.”
Lauer trains the filly for his wife Penny, also the filly’s breeder. Her dam Hush U Dreamer is also the dam of four-time stakes winner Dreamin Big.
Into Mischief, a top-10 General Sire this year, has 12 stakes winners to date, topped by H. Allen Jerkens S. (G1) winner Practical Joke.
