Donut God was on top of his game once again in Saturday’s Inaugural S. at Tampa Bay Downs, winning the six-furlong race for 2-year-olds in front-running style.

The Into Mischief colt has never been headed in two starts as his connections look forward to 2025. He is the sixth juvenile stakes winner of the year for Into Mischief, who not only leads the General Sire List, but also tops the 2024 Two-Year-Olds Sire list.

Donut God was able to establish a clear lead right from the break and led through lively fractions of :22.54 and :45.12. The bay colt was up two lengths in the upper stretch, then comfortably held off stakes winner Naughty Rascal to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:09.13 on a fast track.

“It was another great step forward for him,” said trainer Brian Lynch, who conditions Donut God for owner Flying Dutchmen Breeding and Racing, LLC. “It’s very exciting to see these young horses develop, particularly when they’re precocious like him.”

Donut God, who broke his maiden Nov. 14 at Churchill Downs, has earned $114,000 in his two victories.

The winner was bred in Kentucky by Aaron and Marie Jones LLC and sold for $400,000 at the 2023 Keeneland September Yearling sale.
