Bourbon Memory bested Family by a head after a stretch-long duel to win the $125,000 Serena’s Song S. March 29 at Turfway Park.
The 3-year-old Bolt d’Oro filly was making her first stakes start after a trio of wins by a combined 17 ½-lengths during the Turfway meet.
Family was quickest out of the gate, with Bourbon Memory only a length off the lead in third as the field made their way down the backstretch. Bourbon Memory turned up the pressure on the turn and her and Family were on even terms before entering the stretch. The two traded turns taking the lead, with Bourbon Memory winning after one final surge.
The winner is owned by Bourbon Lane Stable (J. Hill, M. McMahon), Seidman Stables LLC, All My Hart Racing, Inc., Fergus Galvin, and Carl Barry and has earned $156,903 in her four wins. She was bred in Kentucky by Galvin and Adrian Regan.
Bourbon Memory is a half-sister to stakes-placed Imperial Gun and her dam Take a Memo is a daughter of Grade 2 winner Memorette.
Bolt d’Oro, a top-five Fourth-Crop sire, has a total of eight stakes horses to date in 2025, including potential Kentucky Oaks (G1) starters Drexel Hill and Look Forward.
