Top First-Crop Sire Maximus Mischief surpasses $1M progeny earnings mark
September 17, 2023
Maximus Mischief, who leads the 2023 First-Crop Sire list in several categories, recently topped the $1 million mark in progeny earnings with winners in both allowance and maiden special weight races.
Irish Maxima, who is undefeated and has led at every point of call in both of her victories, went gate-to-wire to score by 6 ¾-lengths in a six-furlong allowance race at Pimlico on Sept. 16. The 2-year-old filly won in similar fashion in her Aug. 22 maiden debut at Parx and has earned $68,400 fo4 owner Irish Three Racing LLC and trainer John Servis.
Irish Maxima was bred in Kentucky by Pillar Property Services Inc. and is the latest of 10 winners out of her stakes-winning dam Palace Pier.
On Sept. 17 at Gulfstream Park the filly Miss Sayely rolled to an 11-length maiden special weight win on the main track. The 2-year-old filly led nearly the entire trip, and after a sudden burst to draw off at the top of the stretch, was geared down late to win wrapped up.
Miss Sayely is owned by Gran Chanito Stable LLC, Soldi Stable LLC, and Orange Racing Stable LLC. Bred by Beth Bayer, Miss Sayely is a half-sister to two-time stakes winner Recruiter.
