Thousand Words starts hot at F-T Midlantic with $190,000 colt

Thousand Words, who currently leads the First-Crop Sire list with a trio of winners, got off to a strong start at the May 20-21 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic sale of 2-year-olds in Training when hip No. 46 hammered for $190,000 on Monday.
Consigned by the Shamrock Stable, the colt went to Christina Jelm, agent for Mike Puhich.
The Kentucky-bred dark bay is out of the Tiz Wonderful mare Georgia and hails from the family of graded stakes winner and multiple track-record setter Jungle Prince.
Thousand Words’ average price over the two-day auction was more than 14 times his stud fee of $5,000.
Thousand Words first crop of runners has gotten off to a red-hot start on track as well, with maiden special weight winners at Keeneland, Churchill Downs and Woodbine among his first five starters.
