Temple City’s Another Mystery starts Fair Grounds meet with a stakes win
November 28, 2021
Another Mystery fought past Pixelate in the final sixteenth of the $75,000 Bob F. Wright Memorial S. to give the 5-year-old son of Temple City his second career stakes win.
Facing seven foes in Saturday’s race at the Fair Grounds, Another Mystery got a ground-saving trip along the fence while sitting about a half-dozen lengths from the lead for the first six furlongs. Coming into the stretch, he swung three-wide to make his bid for the lead. Pixelate had taken command with a furlong to run, but Another Mystery ran him down to win by a neck in 1:45.67 for the “about” 1 1/16-miles on the firm turf.
The winner is owned and bred by Team Block and is out of the top-class racehorse and producer Ioya Two. A five-time stakes winner (including the G3 Modesty H.), Ioya Two has five stakes-winning offspring. Another Mystery is her last named foal.
Another Mystery is one of Temple City’s 16 worldwide stakes horses in 2021. His progeny have banked more than $6.2 million this year. Temple City will stand for $5,000 S&N in 2022.
