September 11, 2017
Temple City’s first lot at the Keeneland September Yearling sale sold for $475,000 during Monday’s session, his top-priced yearling to date in 2017.
Brandywine Farm consigned the filly, hip No. 46, who was bought for North Hills Company, Ltd. The dark bay filly is out of the Malibu Moon mare Malibu Pier, who won three graded stakes and is the dam of Coasted, runner-up in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1).
Temple City, whose $1.6 million earner Miss Temple City won the Kentucky Downs Ladies Turf (G3) on Sept. 9, has a total of 44 yearlings cataloged in the sale, which runs through Sept. 23.
