Strong finish at Fasig-Tipton for Cloud Computing
October 29, 2021
Classic winner and First-Crop yearling sire Cloud Computing wrapped up the Oct. 25-28 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Yearling sale with a $120,000 colt during Thursday’s closing session.
Hip No. 1516, a dark bay colt consigned by Legacy Bloodstock, agent, went to prolific buyer Jacob West, agent.
The striking juvenile hails from a deep female family. He is out of the Street Cry (IRE) mare Lapinski, and his third dam is Grade 1 winner Cara Rafaela, who is the dam of champion 3-year-old Bernardini, like Cloud Computing, won the Preakness S. (G1).
With more than 65 yearlings sold in 2021, Cloud Computing’s average sale price exceeds eight times his stud fee. In his first three seasons at stud, he has bred an average of 121 mares per year. He will be offered for $5,000 S&N in 2022.
