Stakes on horizon for Devine Mischief
March 1, 2018
Devine Mischief, a very well-bred daughter of Into Mischief, looked extremely sharp in her 6 1/2-length maiden special weight score March 1 at Fair Grounds, covering the six panels in a swift 1:10.25 [WATCH RACE].
Trained by Joe Sharp for Breeze Easy LLC, the bay filly is out of Vibrant, who is a half-sister to graded stakes winner True Direction, the dam of millionaire and Louisiana Derby (G2) winner Vicar’s in Trouble as well as the stakes-placed filly Harbour Island.
After an unsettled, troubled trip in her Feb. 8 debut, Devine Mischief was all business on Thursday, coming out of the gate smartly and assumed command before the head of the stretch, then widened impressively in the lane to win in hand.
Bred by Spendthrift Farm, Devine Mischief sold to her owners for $450,000 at the 2017 Fasig-Tipton March Select 2-year-old sale.
Should she make a foray into stakes company, Devine Mischief would join the likes of Audible, Classy Act, Tiz Mischief and Mia Mischief, all 3-year-olds by Into Mischief who have won or placed in stakes this year.
