Spendthrift goes to $2.8 million to acquire Into Mischief’s Denim and Pearls
November 5, 2024
Denim and Pearls will be joining her sire Into Mischief as part of Spendthrift’s broodmare band after she was purchased by the farm for $2.8 million Monday at the Fasig-Tipton November sale.
Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent for owner Red White and Blue Racing LLC, the 3-year-old filly sports a 3-2-0 record from seven starts, including a dominant 9 ¼-length win in this year’s Beaumont S. (G2). She also finished second in both the Martha Washington S. and Year’s End S. at Oaklawn Park.
“She is a great looking filly,” said Spendthrift’s Ned Toffey. “She is talented, great family and we obviously love the sire. What’s not to like. She will be a nice addition to the broodmare band. She’s a really nice filly that could go to several of our stallions.”
Denim and Pearls is out of the graded stakes-placed Majestic Presence, making her a full sister to Grade 1 winner Newgate.
