Speedy Maximus Mischief colt brings $385,000 during OBS opener

Maximus Mischief, the leading Third-Crop sire of 2025, had an excellent opening day of the April 15-18 OBS 2-year-olds in Training sale, topped by $385,000 colt.
Hip No. 244, named Maximus Empire, was consigned by Cardozo’s Brothers and sold to Dutch Girl Holdings & Irving Ventures, Michae Pender, agent.
The bay Kentucky-bred had worked a furlong in a bullet :9 4/5-seconds at the Under Tack show. He is a full brother to $126,578 earner Amy Z and is from the direct family of Demoiselle S. (G2) winner Fortunate Faith and LeComte S. (G3) winner Z Fortune.
Among Maximus Mischief’s five stakes winners this year are Raging Torrent, recent winner of the Godolphin Mile (G2) and Distaff S. (G3) winner Irish Maxima.
