Sittin On Go first stakes winner for Brody’s Cause in Iroquois S. (G3)

Sittin On Go’s dynamic victory in Saturday’s $200,000 Iroquois S. (G3) gave Brody’s Cause his first black type winner and rocketed the Spendthrift stallion in to the top five on the First-Crop sire list.

Incredibly, each of Brody’s Cause’s winners have gone on to earn black type, two of them in graded stakes.

Sittin On Go had won his debut in impressive fashion just three weeks ago, taking the five-furlong contest by 4 ¼-lengths. Breaking from post 2 in the one-mile Iroquois, the chestnut colt had just one horse beat through the first five furlongs. Kicking into gear midway on the turn, he came five wide in the stretch and rolled past the field to strike the front with a sixteenth to run.

Sittin On Go wrapped up the mile in 1:35 flat on a fast track.

“This horse reminds us a lot of his father (Brody’s Cause),” said trainer Dale Romans, who guided Brody’s Cause to wins in the Breeders’ Futurity (G1) and Blue Grass S. (G1). “We were pretty confident he’d be able to stretch out from his training and this race set up perfectly for us. We’re on to the Breeders’ Cup.”

The victory, the second in two starts for Sittin On Go, was worth $117,800 and boosted his  earnings to $145,520.

In addition to picking up 10 points toward the 2021 Kentucky Derby (G1), Sittin On Go also earned a fees-paid berth into the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (GI) at Keeneland on Nov. 6.

Sittin On Go is owned by Albaugh Family Stables, who purchased the winner for $65,000 as a weanling at the 2018 Keeneland November sale. He was bred by Wynnstay and is the third foal, all winners, out of the stakes winner Set’n On Ready.
