Sister Nation rallies to win $100K Ruling Angel S.
October 8, 2017
Into Mischief’s latest stakes winner Sister Nation made a five-wide rally coming into the stretch on her way to a length and a half win in Sunday’s $100,000 Ruling Angel S. at Woodbine.
The 3-year-old filly is Into Mischief’s 14th stakes winner this year, which is fifth-most for all North American sires.
Sister Nation, who was third two starts back as a maiden in the Selene S. (G3), found her best stride in the Woodbine stretch. In fifth, but no more than three lengths off the lead at any point, Sister Nation went around a quartet of foes and was moving best of all in the final furlong to finish the 6 1/2-furlongs in 1:16.34.
“We had to give her some time (after her June 17 maiden win),” trainer Mike DePaulo said. “She came back today, and Eurico (Da Silva) gave her a big ride.”
Owned by Marvin Little, Sister Nation has now earned $141,677. The winner is a daughter of Evita’s Sister, who is a full sibling to four time graded stakes winner Evita Argentina.
