Shammah a sharp winner for Free Drop Billy

Shammah looked far superior to his competition in a 5 ½-furlong maiden special weight race Tuesday at Presque Isle Downs, rolling to a 2 ¾-length victory (WATCH RACE).

The 2-year-old is the third winner for Free Drop Billy, who already has produced the stakes winner Free Drop Maddy. Free Drop Billy himself was a debut winner and Grade 1 winner at 2.

Shammah was away very alertly and battled for the lead with Tango Mike for a quarter mile before shaking free. He widened around the turn and ran very true through the lane to win in style in 1:03.98 in the synthetic surface.

The winner is owned by Blazing Meadows Farm LLC and was bred by Angela M Ingenito. Shammah is the first foal to race out of Ithinkits Monday, who has a yearling colt by Gormley.
