Saratoga Yearling sale closes with big numbers for Into Mischief
August 7, 2019
Tuesday wrapped up the 2019 Saratoga Yearling sale with more excellent results for red-hot Into Mischief, the nation’s leading General Sire with more than $10.3 million in progeny earnings to date.
After a $750,000 filly during Monday’s opening session, Into Mischief topped that mark on Tuesday with a $850,000 filly, hip No. 140, sold by Baccari Bloodstock and purchased by Justin Casse, agent.
“As soon as I saw this filly, I was kind of blown away,” Casse said. “The family has been good to us. I thought she was a superb athlete. Even if she wasn’t a half-sibling to Salty, she stands on her own physically.”
The filly is out of the stakes-placed mare Theycallmeladyluck, the dam of last year’s La Troienne S. (G1) winner Salty (who Casse also purchased). The bay filly’s second and third dams are both multiple stakes winners.
Into Mischief had a total of 10 lots sell over the two days for an average of $454,500. His next major offering will be at the Keeneland September Yearling sale, where he has 93 lots in the catalog.
