Ruby Nell becomes Bolt d’Oro’s newest Graded winner at Santa Anita

Bolt d’Oro gets his newest Graded Stakes Winner with Ruby Nell when she won the Grade 3 Autumn Miss Stakes at Santa Anita on Sunday November 5th.

This is a win for the home team, as Ruby Nell was a $1,200,000 purchase by Spendthrift Farm at the Fasig-Tipton Florida Select 2 Year Olds in Training 2022. Bred by Solana Beach Sales, Ruby Nell is out of the Not For Love mare Rich Love. Trained by Hall Of Fame trainer Richard Mandella and ridden by Edwin Maldonado.

Ruby Nell has won four of her eight total starts, with her first stakes win coming in the Unzip Me Stakes at Santa Anita in October.

The start was less than ideal, with Ruby Nell stumbling badly out of the gate. She quickly recovered, and took the lead by the first turn. She drew away down the back stretch with a huge lead, and remained unchallenged to win by 3 1/4 lengths, with a final time of 1:32.67 for a mile on the turf.
