Race Day’s Wild Wes scores by 5 ½-lengths in MdSpWt win
December 22, 2019
Wild Wes went gate-to-wire in an impressive maiden special weight win Dec. 21 at Hawthorne, winning by 5 ½-lengths to become the 14th winner from Race Day’s first crop of runners.
In the final 10 days of the year, Race Day tallied a pair of maiden winners and another stakes horse when Race Home placed in the Lost in the Fog Juvenile S. on Dec. 28. Race Day’s filly Consultora was a two-time graded stakes winner in Puerto Rico in 2019, while the filly Mom’s Red Lipstick won the Arlington-Washington Lassie S. at Arlington Park.
Wild Wes, owned by Dundalk 5 LLC, Wes Herek and 21 Racing LLC, led all the way in his 5 ½-furlong win and was widening his margin all the way to the wire.
Wild Wes was bred by Nossab LLC and Jan & Madelein Basson and is out of the stakes-placed Tricia’s Trauma.
