Race Day filly zips to 4 ½-length debut win
July 14, 2019
Mom’s Red Lipstick sped through an opening along the rail in mid-stretch and rolled on to a 4 ½-length maiden special weight win on July 13 at Arlington Park (VIDEO).
The 2-year-old is Race Day’s third winner from his first crop, with all three coming in maiden special weight races at different tracks.
Mom’s Red Lipstick was a little tardy at the break, then soon dropped over to the rail to take up a spot about six lengths from the front. Going around a foe in the middle of the turn, she moved back to the inside and blew past Gotta B the Salsa inside the final furlong and won going away in :59.33 for the five furlongs.
The winner races in the colors of her owner Lothenbach Stables and is trained by Chris Block.
Race Day is participating in Spendthrift’s Safe Bet program, which assures breeders that a stallion’s first crop of two-year-olds will have at least one Graded/Group stakes winner in 2019, or the breeder will be completely relieved of the stud fee for his or her impending foal in 2020.
