The first 2-year-olds by Cinco Charlie are proving to be fast and early at the OBS March sale.
Should anyone be surprised?
Hips 197 and 318 had eye-catching :10-flat breezes during the first two under-tack shows March 12-13 in Ocala, both proving to be among the fastest to perform so far at the sale. Both moves were also highlighted by strong gallop-outs into the turn.

Cinco Charlie himself was a precocious juvenile by Indian Charlie, zipping to a debut win at Churchill Downs in the spring of his 2-year-old season before another front-running and fast victory in the Bashford Manor (G3) in his second start. He won seven stakes in total for Steve Asmussen and owners Bill & Corinne Heiligbrodt.
Cinco Charlie is standing the 2020 breeding season for a fee of $5,000 S&N and is participating in the farm’s “Safe Bet” program that insures breeders by guaranteeing at least one graded stakes-winning juvenile in 2020 from Cinco Charlie’s first crop or no stud fee will be owed for resulting foals in 2021.
The annual two-day OBS March sale begins Tuesday, March 17th and will conclude on Wednesday, March 18th.
