Omaha Girl, Alys Beach initial Breeders’ Cup starters for Omaha Beach

Omaha Beach, currently the leading First-Crop Sire by black type winners and black type horses, will have his first starters in the Breeders’ Cup on Friday at Santa Anita Park when the fillies Omaha Girl and Alys Beach go postward in the $2 million Juvenile Fillies (G1).
Omaha Girl, in post five with Umberto Rispoli, is undefeated in two starts on the dirt, most recently in the Hallandale Beach S. at Gulfstream Park. A $400,000 Keeneland September yearling, Omaha Girl is owned by AMO Racing USA and was bred by Rosily Polan.
Alys Beach drew the far outside post in the field of 13 going 1 1/16-miles. The chestnut filly was third in the Alcibiades S. (G1) in her most recent outing. She sold for $120,000 at the same Keeneland yearling sale. Owned by Greg Tramontin, Alys Beach was bred in Kentucky by Jeff Kerber.
Omaha Beach ranks second on the 2023 First-Crop sire list by earnings, with $1,575,422 to date, behind only fellow Spendthrift freshman sire Maximus Mischief.
Friday’s Juvenile Fillies, race 6 on the program, has a scheduled post time of 5:40 pm ET.
