Caitlinhergrtness, a 3-year-old filly from the first crop of Omaha Beach, became her sire’s first classic winner August 23rd when she defeated the boys in the $1 million King’s Plate S. at Woodbine.

Trained by Kevin Attard, the talented chestnut filly powered past favorite My Boy Prince in the stretch of the prestigious 1 1/4-mile event to best that rival by three-quarters of a length. Caitlinhergrtness earned a career best 88 Beyer for the performance.

“She’s obviously all class, and all racehorse,” Attard said. “I think our filly’s pretty special, and it took everything she had to run (My Boy Prince) down, and she’s the champ.”

A $375,000 purchase as a 2-year-old by Siena Farm and WinStar Farm at OBS, Caitlinhergrtness moved her career earnings to $627,069 for her connections. The rising filly was bred by Jesse Korona.

The win marked the seventh black type winner from the first crop of Omaha Beach, who sits atop the 2024 Second-Crop Sires List with more than $4.4 million in progeny earnings.
