Omaha Beach first-timer the 12th winner for his sire
September 25, 2023
Code Omaha scored a very sharp-looking maiden special weight debut victory on Sept. 25 at Horseshoe Indianapolis, leading all the way in the five-furlong turf sprint to win by 2 ¼-lengths.
The bay 2-year-old is the 12th First-Crop winner for Omaha Beach, who tallied his second stakes winner one day prior when Omaha Girl took the Hallandale Beach S. at Gulfstream Park.
Code Omaha sprang quickly out of the gate to make his way to the lead and get to the rail in the first furlong. He led by a length around the turn, then repelled a brief challenge from Weekend Concerto in upper stretch and won going away in :58.40 on the firm turf.
Code Omaha, a $550,000 purchase at this year’s OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in Training, is owned by Lauren and Rene Woolcott. The colt was bred in Kentucky by Harmut Malluche and Silesia Farm and is the first foal out of the stakes-placed mare Lantiz.
