Omaha Beach first-timer leads all the way for Oaklawn MdSpWt score
January 1, 2024
Time for Truth gave top-five First-Crop sire Omaha Beach an even two dozen individual winners in 2023 with his front-running victory on New Year’s Eve at Oaklawn Park.
Omaha Beach had an excellent final three days of the year with a pair of maiden special weight winners and getting two new stakes-placed horses in Charge for Gold and Neom Beach. Omaha Beach led all First-Crop sires with 11 stakes horses and 4 graded horses.
Time for Truth, breaking from post 11 in the 12-horse field, got away best of all and was a head in front down the backstretch. He was pressed around the turn by Mr Fillip, then after straightening for home, shook clear and drew off to win by 1 ¾-lengths. His final time for the six furlongs on a fast track was 1:10.52, good for an excellent Beyer Speed Figure of 89.
Time for Truth is owned by Harry Rosenblum and was bred in Kentucky by Dominique Damico. The 2-year-old colt is the second foal out of Shape Shifter, who is a half-sister to graded stakes-placed Strongconstitution.
