Omaha Beach filly “Lands” $125,000 Broadway S. in 2025 debut
February 23, 2025

Landed took the lead shortly after the start of Sunday’s $125,000 Broadway S. at Aqueduct and never looked back, winning the seven-furlong race by a length in her first start of the year.
The 4-year-old daughter of Omaha Beach now has three stakes wins to her credit after taking both the Fleet Indian S. and Bouwerie S. last summer. She is one of five stakes horses this year for Omaha Beach.
After breaking in a bit of a tangle, Landed found her footing and took the lead inside the first furlong. She had a narrow lead over Speightful Lily after a half-mile in :46.59, then pulled clear turning for home. Sweet Brown Sugar made a belated bid, but could get no closer than a length at the wire.
“She’s one of those horses that’s right up at the front of the stall ready to go,” said trainer Wesley Ward said of the winner. “I had her at Keeneland pointing for this race from her last start and we just gave her some time off–meaning she was still in her stall, just backing off her a little. She’s a really cool horse to be around.”
Landed was bred by Final Furlong Racing Stable and Maspeth Stable. Out of Glory Gold, Landed is a half-sister to the millionaire Venti Valentine and four-time stakes winner Espresso Shot.
Landed is now 5-1-2 in eight starts and has earned $366,750 for Lael Stables.
