Omaha Beach colt hits half-million-dollar mark Wednesday at Keeneland

Omaha Beach, the leading Second-Crop sire in North America, kicked off Keeneland’s Book 2 with a $500,000 colt during Wednesday’s session of the marathon yearling sale.
Consigned by Woods Edge Farm, agent, hip No. 550 went to BC Stables LLC. Previously, the colt had been purchased for $260,000 at this year’s Keeneland January sale.
The third foal out of Our Unbridled Gem, the bay Kentucky-bred is a half-brother to Into Mischief’s stakes winner She’s Our Gem. This is also the family of Grade 1 winner Myconquestadory.
In addition to leading the Second-Crop list with six stakes winners and more than $5.1 million in progeny earnings to date this year, Omaha Beach also leads all sires of his generation by yearling sales average, at $181,355.
