OBS March: First-Crop sire Basin strikes with $270,000 filly

After a very swift 9 4/5-second breeze at the Under Tack show, a filly from the first crop of Grade 1 winner Basin garnered plenty of attention in the sales ring Wednesday at OBS, ultimately hammering for $270,000.
Consigned by Sequel Bloodstock, agent and catalogued as hip No. 302, the chestnut filly went to MyRacehorse.com and their trainer Saffie Joseph, Jr.
The Kentucky-bred is out of Magic Belle, already the dam of seven winners, topped by stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Syndergaard.
Basin joined Spendthrift’s stallion roster following a successful career that saw him win the Hopeful S. (G1) in the most dominant fashion in more than a decade. Basin’s 2025 fee is $5,000 S&N.
