No Cents keeps rolling in $100,000 Heft S.
December 27, 2020
Goldencents’ 2-year-old colt No Cents won his fourth straight race in Saturday’s $100,000 Heft S. at Laurel Park, besting Kenny Had a Notion by a neck on the wire.
No Cents now has two straight stakes wins and is undefeated since finishing second in his Aug. 29 debut. He is one of six stakes winners this year for Goldencents, who leads the Third-Crop sire list in virtually every statistical category. His $6.6 million in 2020 progeny earnings is more than $1.3 million than any sire of his generation.
Kenny Had a Notion led the field though a half-mile in :45.45 before Singlino took over, with No Cents looming just to the outside. Kenny Had a Notion battled back and took over at the top of the stretch and dueled with No Cents to the wire. The final time for the seven furlongs was 1:23.79 on a fast track.
No Cents is owned by his breeders Hope Jones and Isabelle de Tomaso and has earned $209,500.
