Neom Beach the 20th First-Crop winner for Omaha Beach
November 16, 2023
Neom Beach kept finding more in the final furlong to score a three-quarter length victory in a 1 1/16-mile maiden special weight race on Nov. 16 at Churchill Downs.
The 2-year-old filly is the 20th individual First-Crop winner for Omaha Beach. He is one of only four freshman sires to reach that milestone this year. Remarkably, the other three, Vino Rosso, Mitole, and Maximus Mischief, also stand at Spendthrift Farm as well.
Neom Beach, who was making her two-turn debut following a pair of sprint outings, was three-wide the entire trip. Despite the extra ground she had to cover, she came from third to vie for the lead with three furlongs to run. She struck the front after turning for home, then dug in gamely down the lane to secure the win.
The winner is owned by Bloom Racing Stable LLC and The Line Racing. The chestnut filly was bred by Tami Bobo and sold for $210,000 at this year’s OBS Spring sale of 2-year-olds in training.
