Mr. Money grabs the cash at Churchill Downs
September 28, 2018
Leading First-Crop sire Goldencents racked up his 19th juvenile winner on Sept. 28 when Mr. Money drew off to break his maiden by four lengths at Churchill Downs (VIDEO).
Despite a three-wide trip around both turns of the 1 1/16-mile contest, the bay colt was full of run in the stretch, putting away the other pacesetters at the top of the lane to win in a hand ride.
The winner was bred by Spruce Lane Farm and is campaigned by Allied Racing Stable LLC, who acquired the colt for $130,000 out of the 2017 Keeneland September Yearling sale. Mr. Money comes from the same family as Dubai World Cup (G1) winner Well Armed.
Goldencents’ impressive tally of winners is eight more than any other first year stallion. He also ranks in the top three by black type winners and black type horses.
