More stellar Keeneland results for Malibu Moon
September 12, 2017
Malibu Moon matched his Keeneland September sale day 1 results on the second day of the auction with his second $550,000 yearling in as many days.
Malibu Moon had a total of six lots sold during Tuesday’s session, for an average of $325,333.
Tuesday’s $550,000 colt, hip No. 395, was consigned by Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency and purchased by Kempton/Berkelhammer, agents. Named Hollywood Star, the dark bay colt is out of multiple Grade 1 winner and $1.1 million earner Hollywood Story, already the dam of two stakes-placed winners, including Hollywood Star’s full sister Miss Hollywood.
Close behind in price was hip No. 206, a colt consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency and bought by the same connections as hip No. 395 for $525,000. Out of the Cat Thief mare Beholden, the bay colt is a half-brother to a pair of stakes winners.
Malibu Moon substantial list of September yearlings includes an additional 40 in the catalog for the sale which runs through September 25.
