More sparkling OBS sale results for Jimmy Creed
March 14, 2018
Jimmy Creed’s results Wednesday at the March 13-14 OBS 2-year-olds in Training sale continued the Spendthrift stallion’s hot streak in the auction ring, with four six-figure lots, topped by a $300,000 colt purchased by St. Elias Stable.
Jimmy Creed finished the sale with a total of seven horses sold for an average of $187,857, more than 15 times the bred-on stud fee.
The $300,000 colt, hip No. 298, was consigned by Wavertree Stables and had worked a bullet eighth-mile in 9.4 seconds at the Under Tack Show. The chestnut is out of the Speightstown mare Evangelical and is from the same family as Canadian champion 2-year-old Knights Templar and multiple Grade 2 winner Eaton’s Gift.
Later on Wednesday, hip No. 536, consigned by Whitman Sales, agent, went to Cutair Racing for $225,000. He also turned in a rapid work of 10 seconds flat. The Kentucky-bred is a direct descendant of the Grade 1-winning mare Colonial Waters.
