August 17, 2023
Mitole got his eighth winner from his first crop on Aug. 17 when the Black Hole won a maiden race at Wolverhampton in England.
With eight winners and $479,503 in progeny earnings to date, Mitole ranks third on the First-Crop Sire list in both categories.
Black Hole, who was making his second lifetime start, won the 1 mile and 142 yard race over the all-weather surface by a head to give Mitole his first winner in Europe.
The winner is owned by J. A. Osborne et al and was bred in Kentucky by Three Lyons Racing, LLC.
Black Hole is the first foal out of Turko Treat, a half-sister to the 2001 Horse of the Year Point Given and to the dam of the Honorable Miss H. (G2) winner Street Story and Alcibiades S. (G1)-placed Paige. Turko Treat foaled a colt by Thousand Words this spring.
