October 22, 2023
Socialbutterflytam drew off handily to tally a 3 ¾-length debut maiden special weight win Saturday at Mahoning Valley to become the 18th individual winner for leading First-Crop sire Mitole.
As the second maiden winner in as many days for her sire, Socialbutterflytam pushed Mitole’s progeny earnings past the $1.4 million mark to put his just ahead of fellow Spendthrift sire Maximus Mischief.
With Vino Rosso and Omaha Beach occupying the next two slots, Spendthrift sires currently has the top four places on the list.
Socialbutterflytam and Kachow were closely matched for the first four furlongs before the winner asserted herself late and cleared off nicely for the win over the sloppy going.
The winner was bred in Kentucky by Nacy Friel and Leslie Murgul and is owned by Memory Lane Racing, LLC. The first foal out of the stakes-placed Honey Graeme, this is the family of Grade 1 winner Get Noticed and millionaire and multiple graded winner Isitingood.
