Mister Omaha a clear-cut winner of his stakes debut
October 19, 2024
Leading Second-Crop sire Omaha Beach added yet another stakes winner to his roster on Oct. 18 when Mister Omaha rolled to a 5 ½-length victory in the $100,000 Oklahoma Classic Juvenile S. at Remington Park.
The 2-year-old colt was making his stakes debut following his Sept. 27 maiden win over the same track. In Friday night’s six-furlong affair Mister Omaha and Tzedakah battled through a torrid first quarter-mile of :21.87. Tzedakah began to weaken mid-way through the turn and Mister Omaha arrived at the top of the stretch with the lead. He opened up swiftly and was all alone in the lane to finish in 1:11.86 on a fast track.
Now a winner of two of three starts, along with a second-place finish in his debut, Mister Omaha has banked $72,409 for his owner/breeder Bryan Hawk. The bay colt is the first foal out of the Into Mischief mare Cosmic Code, who is a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner and millionaire Bonny South.
Omaha Beach has 10 stakes winners and 18 stakes horses in 2024, easily the best among Second-Crop sires. His $6.3 million in progeny earnings to date this year is nearly $1 million ahead of any other Second-Crop sire.
