Miss Temple City’s date with destiny in Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1)
October 26, 2016
Miss Temple City will look to add to historic year in the Nov. 5 Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) at Santa Anita Park when the daughter of Temple City faces her sternest test to date.
Four-year-old Miss Temple City achieved millionaire status this year with victories over her male counterparts in both the Makers46 Mile (G1) and Shadwell Turf Mile (G1), both at Keeneland. She is the first filly ever to accomplish that racing double.
Miss Temple City’s exploits, along with Group 1 winners Jicamon and Templo Maya, have help lift Temple City into the Top 10 on the Third-Crop Sire list
The Mile drew an overflow field of 23 runners. As a Breeders’ Cup Challenge winner, Miss Temple City has a guaranteed spot in the starting gate. Official post positions for the Breeders’ Cup will be drawn on Oct. 31.
