Miss Sunset scores second straight stakes win
March 17, 2018
Into Mischief’s daughter Miss Sunset has been almost automatic when she faces black type company, and Saturday was no exception when the 4-year-old cruised to seven-length victory in Santa Anita Park’s $100,000 Irish O’Brien S.
Miss Sunset has won nine of her 12 stakes starts and has earned $738,735 for Alan Klein and Philip Lebherz.
The O’Brien was originally scheduled for the turf, but moved to the main track because of rain. Miss Sunset, the 4-5 favorite, was away alertly and had a one-length lead most of the first half-mile, then drew off in the lane with ease to get the 6 1/2-furlongs on the “good” track in 1:16.30.
Miss Sunset was bred by Klein and Premier Thoroughbreds from the Trippi mare Tuscan Sunset.
