Miss Sunset leads all the way in $100K Spring Fever S.
February 25, 2018
Into Mischief’s Grade 2-winning filly Miss Sunset got her first stakes win since taking the Raven Run S. (G2) last October on Sunday at Santa Anita Park when she tallied a 2 1/2-length win in the $100,000 Spring Fever S.
The recently-turned 4-year-old has now won seven stakes and place in three others in just 14 lifetime starts, racking up $678,735 in earnings for her owner/breeders Phil Klein and Philip Lebherz.
Showing her customary early turn of foot, Miss Sunset was pursued closely early on by Cuddle Alert, but the eventual winner put her foe away at the top of the stretch and was drawing off at the end when she stopped the timer in a swift 1:09.92 for the six furlongs.
Into Mischief, last year’s leading 3-year-old sire, has gotten off to a torrid start in 2018. He already has 10 stakes horses, including the winner of the Holy Bull S. (G2) Audible, as well as Tiz Mischief, who finished third in that same race.
