Miss Mischief chalks up second stakes win of career
September 26, 2014
Miss Mischief found clear running in the Presque Isle Downs stretch to garner a 1 ¾-victory in the $100,000 H.B.P.A. S. Thursday evening, the second stakes victory for the 4-year-old daughter of Into Mischief.
A top-five Third Crop sire, Into Mischief now has seven stakes winners that have won ten black-type events, led by 3-year-old Vicar’s in Trouble, who has earned $1.1 million this year.
Miss Mischief was somewhat bottled up until with a quarter mile to run in the H.B.P.A., when she went three-wide to find some open space, ultimately drawing off to finish the 1 mile and 70 yards in 1:39.55, less than a second off the track record (VIDEO).
Miss Mischief has now won six of her 13 starts, earning $258,800. The filly was consigned to the 2011 Fasig-Tipton July Yearling sale by Gainesway, where she was sold for $125,000 to Deborah Easter, agent. She was the first foal out of Kid Majic, who is a half-sister to Del Mar Futurity (G1) winner J P’s Gusto.
