Saturday, April 5, 2025 proved to be a banner day for promising young stallion Maximus Mischief, as he was represented by a pair of impressive graded stakes winners from his first crop with world-class miler Raging Torrent and leading female sprinter Irish Maxima.

Grade 1 winner Raging Torrent made a triumphant 2025 debut by traveling to Dubai on its biggest day and capturing the $1,000,000 Godolphin Mile (G2) in dominating fashion at Meydan Racecourse. The brilliantly-fast colt was coming off a 3-year-old season that saw him defeat older horses in the Pat O’Brien Stakes (G2) at Del Mar before winning the storied Malibu Stakes (G1) at Santa Anita last December.

Saturday, under jockey Frankie Dettori, Raging Torrent broke sharply and took command early on the stretch out to a mile, never looking back before pulling away by 3 1/2 lengths for trainer Doug O’Neill in 1:36.69. Owned by Zhang Yuesheng and Great Friends Stable, he was bred in Kentucky by Rodney Winkler and Alfonso Mazzetti. The victory makes him the first millionaire for his sire Maximus Mischief, as Raging Torrent now has career earnings of $1,247,400 to date.

Later on that day at Aqueduct, Maximus Mischief’s 4-year-old daughter Irish Maxima won her third straight race and first graded stakes race in the $175,000 Distaff Stakes (G3).

Irish Maxima broke well and was hustled to the lead by jockey Frankie Pennington, never looking back as the favorite in the 7-furlong race. She hit the wire 1 1/4 lengths on top in 1:22.92 for trainer John Servis.

Bred in Kentucky by Pillar Property Services, Servis purchased the speedy filly from the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-year-old sale for owner Irish Three Racing LLC. Only out of the money once in her 11-race career, Irish Maxima has now won a total of four stakes races and has earned $516,165 to date.

Maximus Mischief leads third-crop sires in nearly every category in 2025, including black-type winners (5), black-type horses (9), graded stakes winners (2), and progeny earnings.
