Mares in Foal to Jackie’s Warrior in High Demand
November 10, 2023
The first mares offered at public auction to the five-time Grade 1 winning Jackies Warrior are proving to be in high demand at the November Breeding Stock Sales.
At the Fasig-Tipton Night of the Stars, the mare Sophia’s Song hammered down at a final price of $1,350,000 to Shadai Farm from the Taylor Made Sales consignment. Sophia’s Song, by Bellamy Road, is comes from the productive family of Housebuster. She is also the dam of Grade 1 winner Bright Future, recent winner of the Jockey Club Gold Cup, as well as Booth (Mitole) who was an impressive Keeneland debut winner this year.
Jackie’s Warrior covered a full first book of 182 mares in 2023. His Class Performance Index (CPI) from his book of mares was 4.42, which quantitatively represents the best book of mares covered by any stallion in North America that stood for under a fee of $100,000. Those mares included the great champion Beholder, now a G1 producer and multiple graded stakes winning producer, and fellow champion Groupie Doll.
He will stand the 2024 breeding season for $45,000 S&N when his highly anticipated first foals begin to arrive.
