Malibu Moon filly brings $700,000 at OBS 2yo Sale

Perennial leading sire Malibu Moon had one of the top lots through the first two days of the April 24-27 OBS 2-year-olds in Training sale when hip No. 534 was secured for $700,000 by Speedway Stables LLC.
The filly, who had zipped through a quarter-mile in 21 seconds flat during the Under Tack Show, was consigned by de Meric Sales, agent.
The dark bay juvenile is out of Just Joyful, who is a half-sister to the champion 2-year-old colt Boston Harbor and the stakes winner Cloudburst.
In addition to his outstanding sales results, Malibu Moon is also in the top 10 on this year’s General Sire list, with a double-digit group of stakes horses topped by the undefeated Kentucky Derby (G1) hopeful Magnum Moon.
