Majestic Creed draws off smartly for first stakes victory
November 23, 2023
Jimmy Creed earned his seventh stakes winner of the year on Nov. 22 at Penn National when Majestic Creed pulled clear in the final furlong to win the $100,000 Susquehanna S. by 7 ¼-lengths [WATCH RACE].
The 3-year-old filly, who placed in the $200,000 Catherine Sophia S. in August, is now 6-1-4 in 18 starts and has earned $226,140 for owner Cheryl Rickards.
Majestic Creed made perhaps the winning move right out of the gate of the one-mile race. She hustled between horses to avoid getting pinched back and was second behind Knickersinatwist going into the first turn. That duo stayed one-two until upper stretch, when Majestic Creed challenged and quickly dispatched her foe with a furlong to run. She coasted home an easy winner in 1:36.94 on a good main track.
Bred by Phoenix Thoroughbred III, Ltd. in Kentucky, Majestic Creed is the second foal to race out of the stakes winner Majestic Gale.
