Let It Ride Mom drives home in Glorious Song S.
November 19, 2016
Into Mischief got his sixth 2-year-old stakes winner of 2016 on Saturday when Let It Ride Mom rallied for a half-length victory in Woodbine’s $125,000 Glorious Song S.
Already twice stakes-placed this year, Let It Ride Mom used a sustained rally to win Saturday. Near the back of the nine-horse field for the first quarter-mile, Let It Ride Mom gathered steam while very wide on the turn. She finally struck the front with a furlong to run and safely held off Sister Nation to secure the win.
“Everything went good,” winning jockey Rafael Hernandez said. “Last time, the horse got the lead, and just waited for the horses. This time, I waited more and made a big run. She finished strong today, and won the race.”
Trainer Mark Casse’s assistant Kathryn Sullivan was pleased to see the filly pick up her first stakes score.
“She’s been wonderful,” Sullivan said. “We couldn’t have asked for more. She’s done everything right so far. I thought she had a lot of horse left. I think we’ll see good things in the future.”
Let It Ride Mom, bred in Kentucky by Tim Thornton, Robert Watt, Doug Glass and Greg Foley, banked $75,000 in victory while improving her record to two wins and two seconds from four starts.
Into Mischief, whose stakes-winning 2-year-olds include multiple Grade 1 winner Practical Joke, is the leading Juvenile sire of 2016 by earnings, winners and win. The Spendthrift stallion will stand next year for $75,000 live foal stands and nurses.
