Leading Second-Crop sire Omaha Beach got his third stakes winner of the weekend on Aug. 25 at Saratoga when Landed scored a front-running victory in the $200,000 Fleet Indian S.

With Caitlinhergreatness taking the $1 million King’s Plate S. and E J Won the Cup $250,000 winning the St. Louis Derby, both on Aug. 24, Omaha Beach leads all Second-Crop sires with seven stakes winners and over $4.5 million in progeny earnings to date in 2024.

Landed, who had won her two starts prior to the Fleet Indian, got away on top and was able to control the pace from the outset. After a half-mile in :50.46 and six furlongs in 1:14.69, Landed had a half-length lead over Dolomite. With the tepid early fractions, Landed easily put away Dolomite in the stretch to win by 2 ½-lengths.

“She [Landed] went one mile and a sixteenth at Keeneland in open-company and backing up a little in class a little obviously with the New York-breds, well I wouldn’t say backing up because some New York-breds can really run too, but going against New York-breds one mile and an eighth today and no pace, it helped today. She showed she can go the distance,” said winning rider John Velazquez.

Landed is owned by Lael Stables, who purchased her for $500,000 at the 2022 Fasig-Tipton New York Yearlings sale. The bay filly was bred by Final Furlong Racing Stable and Maspeth Stable.

With the win, Landed is now 4-1-1 in six starts, including a victory in the Bouwerie S. in June, and has earned $290,410.
