Omaha Beach’s Landed earns 86 Beyer in Bouwerie Stakes win
June 10, 2024
With Landed’s win in the Bouwerie Stakes at Saratoga on June 9th, 2024, sire Omaha Beach now has 5 black type winners and 10 black type performers — more than any other second-crop sire.
Piloted by John Velazquez, Landed was bumped at the start but quickly recovered and pressed the pace from the outside of Sunday Girl. Taking over the lead on the turn, Landed never looked back and coasted to a win by 1 1/4 lengths. The 7-furlong dirt race was run in 1:23.61 under sloppy/sealed conditions. Landed earned a solid 86 Beyer number for her victory.
Landed was already a winner in 2024, winning an allowance race at Keeneland on April 7th after a second-place finish in the Maddie May Stakes at Aqueduct in February. She broke her maiden in her second start at Aqueduct last December. The talented filly has 3 wins in 5 starts and has never been out of the money.
Bred in New York by Final Furlong Racing Stable & Maspeth Stable, Landed is out of the Medaglia d’Oro mare Glory Gold and is a half sister to stakes winners Venti Valentine and Espresso Shot. Landed was sold as a weanling at the 2021 Fasig-Tipton Fall Mixed sale for $220,000 and turned into a $500,000 yearling at the Fasig-Tipton New York Saratoga Selected Yearling sale, selling to current owner Lael Stables. She is trained by Wesley Ward.
